Emergency contact information

In case of emergencies during your stay, please refer to the following contact numbers:

• Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Ambulance): Dial 112 for life-threatening situations requiring immediate assistance.
• Medical Helpline: For urgent, non-life-threatening medical issues, call 1813 to speak with a nurse or doctor.
• Non-Emergency Police Assistance: For situations like reporting a theft or lost property, dial 114.

Check-in and check-out

Check-in is 4:00 PM. Check-out is 11:00 AM. Please let us know what time you plan to leave so we can coordinate with our cleaner.

Upon leaving, simply slam the door shut — it locks automatically after 5 minutes. Please send us a text once you've departed.

House rules

We kindly ask you to read our house rules carefully and keep them in mind during your stay.

1. We remove our shoes upon entry into the home, and ask that you do the same. Slippers are available in the shoe rack.
2. Events, photoshoots or filming are not allowed unless agreed with the host in advance.
3. The maximum number of people on the property at any time is double the number of guests booked (e.g. booked for 4 guests = max 8 people total, including day visitors) — and never more than 16 people in total, regardless of booking size.
4. Smoking only allowed on the terrace.
5. No pets allowed.
6. No unregistered guests beyond the limits above.
7. Please don't eat or drink in the bedrooms.
8. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. No outdoor music at any time of day, not just in the evening — indoor music only with doors and windows closed.
9. Please close all windows and doors when you leave the house.
10. Check-in is after 4:00 PM, check-out is by 11:00 AM.
11. Please take care of the furnishings — damages exceeding the security deposit are chargeable.
12. Please don't rearrange the furniture.
13. Please do your dishes.
14. Please take the trash out before you leave.
15. No illegal substances allowed on the premises.
16. All guests must email a photo of their passport or driver's license to emil@emilthorup.dk no later than 48 hours before arrival. Bookings without ID verification are not valid.
17. Bedding and towels are included — please make your own bed on arrival.
18. The grill, sauna and pool are free to use, but must be cleaned after use or an extra cleaning fee applies.

Marble surfaces

Our house features marble surfaces, including in the kitchen and bathrooms. Marble is a natural stone which we think is very beautiful, but it is also porous and delicate — it can stain or scratch easily if not treated with care.

If you accidentally spill something, blot (don't rub) with a paper towel and clean gently with water and mild soap.

How to use appliances

Washer and dryer

Located in the utility room behind the sliding doors. Soap is under the sink — we typically use ½ cup from the top of the lid.

Philips Hue lights

Our house uses the Philips Hue smart lighting system, controllable via the app or wall switches.

• Download the "Philips Hue" app (iOS/Android), connect to our wifi, and open the app — it should auto-connect to the Hue Bridge in the utility room above the water tank.
• Traditional wall switches still work for basic on/off. Some rooms have Hue dimmer switches for manual control.

Windows / doors

To open the sliding doors, pull down the handle and push the door slightly outward. If a door sticks, please don't force it — this can bend the screws or break the handle. The terrace door can be tricky, even for us; if it's not working, please contact us rather than forcing it.

Rugs

Throughout the house you'll find authentic wool rugs — delicate and prone to staining. Please be careful walking on them with food or drinks.

If you spill something on a wool rug: blot (don't rub) immediately with a clean, dry cloth; for water-based spills use cold water and a clean cloth to gently dab; avoid hot water (can set stains, shrink wool); avoid strong cleaners or bleach; and please let us know so we can treat it if needed.

Coffee machine

A Siemens EQ900 fully automatic machine — espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato, and regular coffee at the touch of a button. Left bean holder is decaf, right is regular. Coffee beans are not included. After use, please clean the milk system following the instructions on the display.

Dishwasher

Make sure it's full before running. Powder is in the first drawer to the right of the sink. The most efficient program is "Intensiv." Press power, wait a few seconds, then press Start and close the door. To change program, press power, use "PROG" to select, then Start. Don't open the dishwasher mid-cycle.

Induction cooktop

Touch the power button to activate the cooking zones, then adjust heat via the touch control bar or +/– buttons. It heats quickly, so adjust your usual cooking times. The built-in ventilation adjusts automatically to steam and heat, or can be controlled manually via the fan button.

Floor heating

Available only between September and April, and controlled automatically — not guest-accessible. Contact us if it needs adjusting.

Sauna

You have access to our premium Harvey Xeio sauna during your stay.

1. Turn on via the wall control panel or the Harvey sauna app.
2. Set your desired temperature (recommended 70–90°C / 160–195°F).
3. Allow 20–30 minutes to heat up.
4. Enjoy your session for 10–20 minutes, or as preferred.
5. Hydrate before and after.
6. Turn the sauna off completely after use.
7. Please don't use oils etc. on the sauna oven.

Safety: never leave the sauna unattended while running; avoid it after drinking alcohol; stay hydrated; don't place objects on the heater; exit immediately if you feel dizzy or uncomfortable.

Ice bath

Currently unavailable due to maintenance. If you'd like to use it during your stay, let us know and we'll start the chiller — please allow 6–8 hours for the water to fully cool.

Pool spa

Set to 27°C in summer (June 1 – Sept 1); guests can't adjust this. From Sept 1 – June 1, heating is available on request but carries an additional electricity fee. Always use the outdoor shower before entering the pool.

Trash / recycling

Containers for waste sorting are located next to the road (plastic, cardboard, glass, metal, paper). Many Danish bottles and cans carry a Pant (deposit) — look for the Pant A/B/C symbol. Return empties to a Pant machine (usually in supermarkets), scan them one at a time, then press the button for a refund receipt.
